In Denver, Colorado, all residential rental property must be licensed in accordance with the Healthy Residential Rentals for All Program. The process is fairly simple, but there are a few things that you need to keep in mind.
The first step to applying for a license for your residential rental property is to determine if your property is located within the city limits of Denver. If it is, then you will need to apply for a license. The next step is to gather the required documents. To apply for a license, you will need to submit the following items to the Department of Excise and Licenses:
Once you have all of the required documentation, you can submit your application online or in person at the Denver City Department of Excise and Licenses. If you are submitting your application in person, you can pay by cash, check, or money order. If you are submitting your rental unit license application online, you will need to create an account. Once you are logged in, you will be able to complete the application and pay the licensing fee. The fee is for each dwelling unit that you own.
